For Those New To Christianity

This Is My King

A short (3m 20s) but powerful modern expression of what we believe and feel about Jesus of Nazareth.

The Lord's Prayer

THIS is the prayer Jesus himself taught us.

Listen to the Prayer being read out

The recording below is of one the first musical settings of the Lord's Prayer ever made in English.

OUR Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Where Next?

Try Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer next. You'll begin to find out more about what we believe not just in theory, but in practice. You'll meet the Psalms, the Apostles’ Creed, and start to follow the Bible through the year.

Then there's the Litany, a series of petitions for help from God for ourselves, our country, and our neighbours.

The service of Holy Communion takes place at least once a week, and is the high point of the Christian life. In it, Christ gives us (by his Holy Spirit) a life-giving blessing in bread and wine. Meanwhile, we offer to his Father, in praise and thanksgiving, a perpetual memorial of the sacrifice Christ made for us on his cross.

Check out too my Sermons section, which gives you extracts from the Anglican tradition on a wide range of subjects, including Christian spirituality, politics, and morals.

And then there are pages of Traditional Prayers for all occasions, as well as Favourite Hymns for the whole year.

My daily Diary is a blog following the readings of the day and topics in traditional Anglican history and spirituality. Read, comment and share your experiences.

Till We Meet Again

WE will meet, in a place from which sorrow and sighing have vanished away (see Prophecy Of Isaiah, 35:10).

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (see Revelation Of St John The Divine, 21:4).

Till that day, may God bless you and those whom you love.

GOD be with you till we meet again;
By His counsels guide, uphold you,
With His sheep securely fold you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Neath His wings protecting hide you;
Daily manna still provide you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
With the oil of joy anoint you;
Sacred ministries appoint you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
When life’s perils thick confound you;
Put His arms unfailing round you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Of His promises remind you;
For life’s upper garner bind you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Sicknesses and sorrows taking,
Never leaving or forsaking;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
Strike death’s threatening wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Ended when for you earth’s story,
Israel’s chariot sweep to glory;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.
